“Adversity causes some men to break; others to break records.” -William Arthur Ward

Life is essentially comprised of two types of people: the victims and the empowered. We all have a unique set of circumstances, experiences, and resources. How we use them determines where we fit, the impact we have, and the legacy we leave.

The empowered use their stories to encourage others’ to share their stories.

The empowered work to become stronger to build strength in others.

The empowered take responsibility to help others be more accountable.

To the empowered; the mantra…”be the light in the world you wish to see.”

Only then, are we set free. Free from self-imposed mental shackles. We are liberated internally.
In this way, the victim was always doomed. The giving of anything by anyone cannot result in the empowered life. It never can and it never could. It may yield temporary satisfaction, but fades. The work is an inside job. We are our own apprentice.

In any area of our lives that we pursue, we have this choice. Personal finance is no different. We aren’t broke because of this or that. We aren’t wealthy because of this or that. Be…do….have.

  • Be a person with a poor scarcity mindset. Do what poor people do; have poverty. Create a dependence on others. Don’t do this.

  • Be a person with an abundance mindset, with a service to others mindset. Do actions that create wealth; have wealth. Share wealth. Help others. Do this.

These ideas are not absolutes. The process and work takes time. It’s about the path we’re on, not our current state. Which state are you moving towards? It can’t be both. It can’t be neither.
