When we imagine goals, we imagine some mystical finish line. At this finish line we find pure bliss. After all, we’ve accomplished our big audacious goal. Is that possible? Is it even logical thinking?

Will we find ourselves in the same place….pondering our next best action? We’ll have a different age, a different perspective. But, do we just stop striving, stop dreaming, stop finding ways to help others?

Maybe we re-frame the concept of goals. Let’s look at goals as a pursuit.  Yes, we do need to put descriptions to goals, prioritize and define them in terms of bottom-line dollars and time commitment. Get those goals on paper. Realize they will change. Be content in that.

We become enlightened, empowered, action-taking machines. If and when our goals shift, we’ll be closer to that goal having started down the path.  What endures is who we become in pursuit of our goals, not the results of achieving them. It’s who we become in the process of heading down the track. Set the track and get going.
